I made Adam promise that he won't let me become one of these nauseating mothers who only talk about their precious little offspring, who post on Facebook with copious heart icons. "You won't do it," he said, "because you're you. And you'll still be you."

I still notice dogs before I notice kids. I'm still not particularly interested in talking about kid stuff. I'm still me. And I will always be me.
