Eight years

Yesterday MacDowell legend and all-around sweetheart Blake Tewksbury took us on his two-hour Magical History Tour. (Title mine, so don't blame Blake.)

He recalled how he and MacDowell director David Macy went to each individual studio to tell colony residents about the 9/11 attacks. "It was the hardest trip I hope I ever have to make," he said.

Afterward, he said, he saw colonists and staff members wandering the grounds alone and in pairs. He spoke of MacDowell's healing powers: "I think this is as much of a place of re-creation as of creation," he said.
